OLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Columbus police are investigating after a young child has been shot. The shooting is said to have occurred in the 600 block of 6th Ave., across from Liberty Gardens Townhomes. Captain Joyce Fitzpatrick with the Columbus Police Department has confirmed that a one-year-old girl was shot in the chest. Police said the child is in life threatening, critical condition.
